Nationwide

Steinberg v. Nationwide (E.D.N.Y.) - Brought on behalf of purchasers of Nationwide automobile insurance who suffered covered losses to these automobiles that resulted in payment that included an adjustment to the amount paid based on a "betterment" charge by the repair shop. Final approval by the court was given on May 11 of a settlement entered into November 2008. Relief includes cash payments to class members and improvements to Nationwide's policy language. Disbursement of the settlement proceeds will begin soon.
