Joshua B. Silverman specializes in securities litigation, with an emphasis on litigation involving structured financial instruments. Mr. Silverman serves as co-lead attorney for three large public funds in litigation related to Countrywide mortgage-backed securities; frequently counsels clients on disputes involving structured financial instruments, public and private investments, and breaches of investment guidelines; played a key role in the Firm's representation of investors before the United States Supreme Court in StoneRidge; and is engaged in the prosecution of many of the Firm's pending class cases, including In re Sealed Air Corp. Sec. Litig.
Before joining Pomerantz, Mr. Silverman practiced at McGuire Woods LLP and its Chicago predecessor, Ross & Hardies, where he represented one of the largest independent futures commission merchants in commodities fraud and civil RICO cases. Mr. Silverman also spent two years as a securities trader, and continues to actively trade stocks, futures, and options for his own account.
Mr. Silverman is a 1993 graduate of the University of Michigan, where he received Phi Beta Kappa honors, and a 1996 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School.
