Jason S. Cowart, a partner in the Firm, focuses his practice on complex shareholder and antitrust litigation. He regularly appears before federal and state courts and is currently one of the lead attorneys in In re Force Protection, Inc. Securities Litigation, as well as derivative litigation stemming from the Bernard Madoff Ponzi scheme.
Prior to joining Pomerantz, Mr. Cowart was a litigation associate at Sidley Austin Brown & Wood LLP. In that capacity, Mr. Cowart concentrated his practice on commercial litigation including antitrust, contract, fraud, and health care-related matters. Mr. Cowart completed his undergraduate education at the University of Michigan and graduated cum laude from Northwestern University Law School. While in law school, he won the Moot Court competition and was an editor of the Journal of International Law and Business. Following law school, Mr. Cowart served as a law clerk to United States District Court Judge Richard Enslen. He is the co-author of State Immunity, Political Accountability and Alden v. Maine, 75 Notre Dame L. Rev. 1069 (2000) and a regular panelist at the New School of Athens, an international globalization conference held in Athens, Greece.
